10 Best iPad and iPhone Twitter Apps You Missed
We all love these new fangled Twitter apps, but it’s always the same ones over and over — TweetDeck, Twitteriffic and Tweetie have been shoved down our throats for a few years, and personally I want to explore some alternatives. I hunted down the top 5 iPad apps and the top 5 iPhone apps that you defiantly missed in the app store — and you’ll be glad you found out about them!
iPad Twitter Apps
TweFrame - The big picture of Twitter
Buy for $1.99 - iPad Only
This is a super unique Twitter app that shifts the main focus from reading a stream of tweets to reading one Tweet at a time in a fluent way.
Designed to view from a distance (say on your desk in the dock) and with a minimal interface (tap the screen to make a tweet) it is a really good addition to your arsenal of Twitter… stuff.
LinkDew - Gallery for Twitter photos
Buy for $1.99 - iPad + iPhone
If you’re like me and you really enjoy the photos your friends tweet, you’ll love this! It takes all the noise from your stream, and packs it into a very nice photo wall.
It works with photos tweeted from TwitPic, Yfrog, Tweetphoto and more.
Tweet Flow - “Beautiful” Twitter on iPad
Get for Free - iPad Only
If you ever used the Seesmic Look app, you basically have a really good concept of what this app feels like.
When I was using it, it was a fair bit sluggish and the “smoothness” was lacking, but the solid features, looks and price tag make it worth the download.
HelTweetica - Minimalistic and Stripped down
Get for Free - iPad Only
We all suffer from information overload, and all these spiffy glossy apps don’t help keep our brains from clouding up, at all. HelTweetica to the rescue!
This app is simple, period. It features great use of the Helvetica font, and a clean and clear interface. If you want to make a statement, HelTweetica is for you.
TweetMagnet - Whoa, Wait… what?

If you want to make your Twitter experience one big magic trick, this is the app. I can imagine showing this to my friends and watching them be like “Whoa, wait… What?” as I zoom through my Tweets.
The app is for iPad and iPhone with a price tag of 99 cents, so this one is a no-brainer.
iPhone Twitter Apps
NOTE: All of these apps work on iPod Touch too
Peek Free - Clutter free Twitter
Get for Free - iPhone Only
Again, with the HelTweetica app above — this app will help you clear your brain and allow you to consume your Twitter feed without any clutter.
The price is right, and the concept is simple — I also dig the darker color scheme and the ability to save different things as “peeks”.
Tweeterena - Look out Twitteriffic
Get for Free (Limited Time) - iPhone + iPad
This app is slowly creeping into iDevices and leveling up in the app store. It features a really clean UI along with the ability to edit your Twitter profile (even avatar) which is awesome!
If you want an all-in-one app for everything, this is it — and its Free for a limited time (as of July 17th)
Twitbit - Rock solid but familiar
Buy for $2.99 - iPhone Only
If you ever used Twitter’s app or Twitteriffic, you’ll be right at home here. This app allows you to upload videos and photos, threaded discussions, trends (with explanations) and Geotagging.
Although it is very similar to Twitter’s app and Twitteriffic, Twitbit is a really nice way to have a change of scenery, and explore another app, without risking ease of use. They have a lite version if you want to try it our first.
Get for Free - iPhone Only
This ones for all you urban hipsters who need a simplistic, funky Twitter app with a hint of razzle dazzle.
It’s got the basics and a few other nuggets of cool stuff as well, but the interface is just fun. Great for anyone who needs a change in pace.
Summizer - Wrapping it up nicely
Buy for $1.99 - iPhone Only
Twitter trends, searches and conversations are some of the most powerful tools when it comes to “right now”. I mean, nothing is better than opening up an app, and seeing real time results for saved searches and conversations.
You can also see Trends from past times and trends that are relevant to your location.
