Microsoft fixes MS points increments

Here’s the breakdown for the new price listings

- 400 MS $4.99

- 800 MS - $9.99

- 1600 MS - $19.99

- 4000 MS - $49.99

Before the pricing system was pretty out of wack since you’d always be forced to buy more points than you needed, and after purchasing something off LIVE you’d have a handful of extra points that really couldn’t afford you anything! It was stupid, so it’s great to hear they’ve fixed it up.

Though with this latest change I’m not sure why they didn’t just round up the amounts to the next dollar.

Stuart Hughes gold brick phone

Stuart Hughes gold brick phone

Is it antiquated? Yep, you better believe it. Is it outrageously overpriced? Yes. Is it stylish? Well, hmmm… we’ll leave that one to you.

What we have here is Stuart Hughes’ gold Privé brick phone. Straight out of an 80’s television show (minus the $200,000 price tag, 22ct gold shell and diamonds) this bad boy features a colour screen and is almost SMS capable. Other than that well… it has several buttons. Oh yeah, did we mention it’s made of gold? — Learn More

AT&T Announces they are Re-branding

Yes, AT&T is planning a very expensive re-branding - and all of us know this is their last ditch attempt to revive any customer loyalty that is left in the big poopy mess that is all over the mobile market. Their eyes still stinging from the hit taken by peeved off costumers, and Verizon attack ads, AT&T is making a final stand. Again…

Twitter buys Tweetie - Will be free soon!

Can you feel the love Twitter-ers? - Tweetie is now officially part of Twitter’s company overall, and has been gently placed in their basket of tools they offer to users.

Tweetie’s creator, Loren Brichter, will be joining as a new vital part of the Twitter team, and the app will be renamed “Twitter for iPhone” and be made free in the next few weeks, which is amazing!

We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve entered into an agreement with Atebits (aka Loren Brichter) to acquire Tweetie, a leading iPhone Twitter client. Tweetie will be renamed Twitter for iPhone and made free (currently $2.99) in the iTunes AppStore in the coming weeks. Loren will become a key member of our mobile team that is already having huge impact with device makers and service providers around the world - @Ev - CEO of Twitter

Personally, I am very excited about the switch, and I really see this as a whole, hearted business move, intended for the consumer. The fact that the app is going to be free is great news, and there is more good news to follow.

Twitter also specifically mentions that an official Twitter iPad app is indeed coming - “Developers, services, and publishers will be able to leverage the Twitter iPhone and iPad applications to create additional innovative tools and integrations for users” - Evan Williams

Microsoft Pink Smartphone spotted - Video

“I was able to see the phone in action with a version of windows 7 mobile running on it. It was smooth and responsive. I was not allowed to take any more pictures of it…” - Thats what the maker of this video said. He apparently got some hands-on time with the turtle phone, but he was told not to take any pictures or videos. Luckily, this was leaked out and we give a tip of the hat to greenrolaids on Youtube - Video and quote after the break!

Amazon selling AT&T branded phones for a penny

Looking for a new AT&T handset? Are those ridiculous $200 price tags too much? Well, if that’s the case then Amazon’s got you covered once again. For a single penny on contract you can walk away with… well an okay device. Oh, and in case you thought that you could snag an iPhone for the mindboggling price of one penny you’re out of luck. But honestly, did you really think that Apple would allow Amazon to sell their flagship product for one cent?

Remember the deal’s only good until April 16, so if you wish to capitalise, you’d better hurry up!
