Weekend Vids: The Sims, Roomba Pac-man, and Assassin's Creed: Lineage

The Sims come to life in a CollegeHumor made trailer of horrific proportions. It's no masterpiece, but it does the trick. I can't wait to see what they decide to use for the actual live action adaptation

Your Next Prom Dress Will Shine!

Though I doubt most of our readers will be wearing a dress anytime soon, I thought this was some crazy cool tech. The "Cute Circuit Galaxy Dress" is made up of 24,00 LED's measuring 2 by 2 millimeters each, hand embroidered onto the surface. The lights are powered by many iPod batteries that are light and hidden throughout the dress. Take it to the Prom, a rave, or your next party and you'll be sure to be the one glowing in the crowd, literally.

Access the iTunes store in your Browser... sorta

Dubbed iTunes Preview, this in-browser take on the iTunes store let's you look at the full Apple catalog... but not much else - no buying or sampling music here. So what is the purpose of the site then? Is it a supposed to be a preview for non iPod users to see what they could get from the Apple service? I don't know, but I still haven't found of a way to access the Preview from the main site, without writing a custom URL that is.

Final Fantasy XIII Launches March 9th, 2010 for PS3/Xbox 360

Final Fantasy XIII is hitting Japanese shelves in mid-December, but when will North America see the newest iteration of the beloved series? This morning we got our answer thanks to a nifty video from Square Enix, as well as one other revelation. Besides setting March 9th, 2010 as the official release date, Square President John Yamamoto, announced that the NA version would not be getting the original main theme song, present in the Japanese game. Rather than getting Sayuri Sugawara's classical sounding "Kimi ga iru kara", we will be getting "My Hands" from Leona Lewis' upcoming album Echo.

To be honest with you, I had never heard of Leona Lewis until the announcement. After looking her up I found out she was a winner on the X Factor (UK version of American Idol) a few years back, and that didn't really get me that pumped up for her Final Fantasy debut. You can actually here the theme here if you'd like. But I think I'm going to hold judgement until I see it playing in the game - sometimes time and place can be everything to a song.

20 Free App's you need for Windows 7

You just got a fresh new OS in Windows 7, eh? We here at T3ch H3lp give kudos to all who worked on it because 7 has proven to be far more than a formidable adversary to Apple's OS X. With fast response times, and next to no hiccups or "freezing", it makes using the PC fun again. But what about programs? Unfortunately, Microsoft is still holding the good stuff from you; i.e. Office and an actual good photo imaging editor.

Well, TechRadar has got you covered - listing 20 applications you'll need to make your Windows 7 experience even better. And the best part about them? They're all free. And with programs like VLC Player (I'm partial to BS Player), Gimp, Firefox, and CCleaner as some of the suggested installments, you'll be set for anything that comes your way.

Google Chrome OS download available Next Week - Un-Confirmed

Google’s Chrome OS project, first announced in July, will become available for you to download within a week. Google previously said to expect an early version of the OS in the fall. It will be free, and be optimized for thin clients (Netbooks, Laptops) and will be based on Linux. Driver support is going to be an issue unfortunatley.

Google has a club of engineers working on the *exciting* task of building hardware drivers. There are also rumors floating around that Google is mostly relying on hardware manufacturers to create those drivers. Google has previously said they are working with Acer, Adobe, ASUS, Freescale, Hewlett-Packard, Lenovo, Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, and Toshiba on the project. More info as it comes...
