Today we’ll be taking a look at Tissot’s T41.1.483.53 Silver Gents Automatic Watch, available from the Tic Watches store. What’s so great about it? Full review below!

What’s in the Box?
The Tissot comes in a Tissot bag which contains an amply padded box. Inside the box you’ll find the watch, a pouch, a book on the history of Tissot, and a product catalog.
Face
The analog display at 39 mm is quite easy to read in most situations.
Thin, pointy hands matched with equally minuscule markings indicate the time quite precisely (down to the second).
Each hour is marked by a roman numeral in chrome. In well lit situations, they’re easy to make out but in the reflection of darker surroundings, the numerals tend to blend in with the face.
The grey watch face has a textured in the center; Tissot 1853 is printed at the top while Le Locle automatic is printed at the bottom.
A tiny window on the right side displays the date.
The display glass is made of anti reflective sapphire crystal which, in our experience, is relatively scratch proof.
Strap
The silver stainless steel strap uses large links that swivel well to conform to your wrist.
Links can be added or removed as you wish, depending on the size of your wrist.
A clasp secures the strap from both sides.
On the underside of the clasp are etched - “TISSOT” and “1853”. And of course, the strap is finished in the same chrome sheen as the body of the watch.
Comfort
Even with its mechanical components, the watch is relatively light and quite comfortable to wear. The watch’s diameter is just right - not overly large and clunky but also not tiny for a men’s watch.
Automatic Movement
The underside of the watch module allows you to look in and see the automatic movement work. Our main issue with the automatic movement is that the power reserve on this watch seems to be quite small. The watch will stop ticking if you don’t wear it for a while (within less than a day). This can be a bit of a pain especially if you wear more than one watch, as you’ll be readjusting the time constantly.
There’s a ticking noise that you’ll notice only in a silent room or if you hold the watch up to your ear. While distracting at times, it isn’t too big a of a deal.
Overall
The Tissot T41.1.483.53 is a great entry level luxury watch with Swiss automatic movement. We absolutely love its classy design and comfortable watch strap, as well as features like the sapphire crystal display glass. Our main issue with the watch is its tendency to stop even with short periods of non use. You’ll find yourself constantly resetting the time but once it’s set, the watch is a pleasure to wear use.
