Zune HD - Specs Pictures and Features

My Take on things

Ever since Apple has taken over the music and cellular market, hundreds of company's have been knawing at the bit, and every time, apple has given them a firm smack to the face with either a new product or just flaunting their awesomeness.

Just about two years ago, Microsoft made Apple loose balance. They pushed out a product that apple fan boys thought was a joke, the Zune. "The bigger they are, the harder they fall" was Microsoft's minds.

Although the Zune was a huge media and social up stir, it just wasn't enough for apple to blink an eye at. Example, as soon as the 30 gig Zune hit store shelves, apple pushed out the 80 gig classic which blew the Zune out of the water. Later, Microsoft released an 80 gig model, but soon after the iPod Nano was all the craze with the 3rd installment. Microsoft pushed out a new line of Zune "Nano's" but they were a failure, and ultimately showed the true failure of imitation.

In a last desperate attempt, Microsoft pushed out the Zune 120 gig ( aka the ipod classic 120 gig) and it just put the final hork on the candle of hope.

Recent up stir in the geek universe has revealed a final attempt for Microsoft to introduce something original, something new. They are building another iPod clone. Yes, But, the thing is (believe it or not) it might be better...

Now, the good stuff

The Zune HD is the latest rumer from the Zune galaxy, the rumors include: An O-LED screen. O-LED is one of the latest and greenest display technologies A full (ipod touch sized) multi-touch display A slim, thin design

Update - 4/16/09 - 3:30 pm

The new details also mention a Web browser on the Zune HD, which in turn supports multitouch. No word on what kind of browser this will be, but let's hope it won't be anything similar to Internet Explorer on Windows Mobile. As previously reported, the Zune HD is set to launch this fall (probably September) with new details of international availability in Canada, the U.K, and France.                                     PC World.com

Also, why is it Zune"HD" what makes it HD. Well, it has a display unlike any other portible device. A display with an aspect ratio of 16:9. Further, the device and updated Zune Marketplace will offer HD media and support for "3D Xbox games."

The visible port on the side of the device is an HDMI out, but that looks to be mostly wishful thinking, since the device's slim profile leads one to believe it is actually Micro USB.
