Use Restoration to Un-Delete files Emptied from the Recycle Bin

Earlier in the day I was setting up my brother's PC with a fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate. We had backed up all of his data onto a secondary hard drive, so we thought we were all set. I finished up in less than an hour and I went home and took a nap. A good hour into my sleep my frantic brother calls me up and tells me that he's lost a ton of data and he's seriously freaking out. I get up, go to his place and realize he ended up deleting his own stuff while he was copying and pasting back his stuff onto his primary drive. I shook my head and just laughed.

To remedy the situation I downloaded an executable app called Restoration - it searches for anything you've deleted, even files you've emptied from your Recycle Bin, and gives you the option to bring whatever you want back from the dead; that is unless it's too far gone.

There are other applications like this out there but Restoration is light-weight, can be loaded up from a USB thumb drive, and most importantly is free.  My only issue with it is that you have to restore each file individually, but it's worth it when it comes to restoring stuff you thought was gone forever.
