Phones that try to do a little bit too much, Sony launches two new media formats - only one survives, and gadgets that just don't live up to their hype; the beginning of the new millennium sure brought about some great ideas, but only a few turned out to be other than mediocre flops. Sometimes it doesn't have much to do that a product didn't work or that it wasn't efficient at what it was meant to do; sometimes it's just a matter of being at the right place at the right time.
