How to: Get Your PC Monitor at Eye Level for Minimal Strain

  

 

For such a long time while I'd be working for hours at my computer my neck and upper back would really start killing me.  At first I thought maybe it was my chair, but after doing a bit of research I finally discovered that it my monitors were too low. So unknowingly I was straining my body all over just because I wasn't looking properly straight at my screens.  

To help combat the pain I've planned to make a DIY monitor stand, but for the moment while it's being constructed I went with a quick fix consisting of books and cds. The trick is getting your monitor's center point slightly below your eye level. It may seem a bit weird to have your screens up so high but trust me, it'll help a ton to get that extra baggage from your shoulders and neck.

Here's a quick look at my own set up. I have some thick books holding up these monstrosities and have eased up the tension
