Here's the enTourage eDGe "Dualbook" - that's really how they spell the name
Laptops, netbooks, tablets - pfff - all child's play to enTourage's eDGe Dualbook. I gravitated toward this thing because it looked nice from afar, but as I got closer, inches away, the silver coat made it look a bit 90's. What do you think? One side is an e-reader (9.7" display), the other is a wannabe tablet with an LCD screen (10.1"). The two panels work together with the use of simple, and some times complicated, shortcuts which you utilize using the gizmo's stylus pen. Writing notes, reading a book, surfing the web - or doing all three at a time - has never simpler.
For example, let's say you're reading a newspaper article and you don't know what a word means -That's no problem for the dualbook - What you'd then do is select the word in question and go to the menu bar up at the top of the e-reader side, which will then open up a web page on the right screen's side to wikipedia. It's a cool concept, but during the demo it looked a bit sluggish and clunky.
It also works for images which can only be seen in black and white on the left side, but when selected can be seen in full color on the right.
It runs off Google's Android OS, connects via Wifi or 3G, can play audio and video, and also hosts a camera and microphone. It'll be available next month (Feb. 2010) at $490. You can pre-order it now on their site.
