A concept for Google Maps - Highlight the actual streets!

Note: We have to give credit where credit is due. This idea was thought up by courvoisier_goldteef on Reddit who created this pretty interesting concept for Google Maps. What I did was take his original concept and turned it into something it could actually look like. Why hasn’t Google done this? We don’t quite know — full view after the break!
When you search for streets, see the streets
I have trouble all the time finding streets on Google maps, mainly because all Google maps uses to point out a street is a tiny pin with a letter on it. The real issues happen when Google shows multiple streets, or when the pin lands on an intersection — and sure you can see the street names on the map, but why doesn’t Google just highlight the entire street?
