    Amazon makes a WiFi-only Kindle for $139

This is music to my ears — $140 bones for the most amazing book reader available (maybe the nook also arguably) in a WiFi only flavor and with a new color, “graphite”. It will also have an updated e-ink screen that the Kindle DX got earlier this month, and the new Kindle will be 21% smaller and 15% lighter than the previous model.

There will be a few more changes, such as a slightly different keyboard layout (shown above), and I imagine slightly different guts in the device, so there could be changes in battery life, speed etc. Amazon recently told the world that Kindle sales had tripled since they lowered the price to $189, so its pretty obvious that this new WiFi-only model at $140 bucks is really going to boost sales, and maybe undermine the B&N nook.

Because of the price drops, are you going to pick up a Kindle?
