Apple gets an insane amount of attention from tech media

Why does Apple always seem so popular on every news blog, TV show and podcasts? — I will tell you why (from experience). They are insanely easy to report because everything they do is set like a clock. You know what is coming next (always), and you know exactly what to do every time news rolls around. They make it easy, and we (naturally as humans) are drawn towards it. It is impossible not to report this stuff.
On the other side of the glass, consumers understand Apple news. The average Joe really doesn’t care if “HP launches the new X-Z23496Fe Netbook” because they don’t have a clue what that is supposed to mean — they usually care if it’s something they understand — and what they understand is the words Apple, iPhone, iPod and Mac.
