Apple releases new Magic Trackpad, iMac, Mac Pro and more

Well, its time to get your credit card ready and brace yourself for some really neat (and some odd) new Apple products. The iMac line has been refreshed and the Mac pro line has gotten a 12 Core upgrade and the ability to cram in 4 SSD’s. There is also a new Magic Trackpad (a giant Macbook trackpad), and a new 27-inch Cinema Display with a (surprisingly) reasonable price tag. Also, Apple threw in a Battery Charger for good measure…

Magic Trackpad

This is Apples latest creation (in terms of peripherals) and through a lot of rumors, it has finally come into reality. It is just like a Macbook trackpad (but much bigger) and supports multitouch along with being wireless (through Bluetooth).

Time will tell if this becomes as viral as most other Apple products, but for now it looks to fit right into your current Appley setup and provide some additional functionality beyond a mouse.

iMac

The latest iMac rolls in with a slew of new upgrades, including new processors, video cards, RAM and hard drives.

Apple has gotten rid of the Duel core processors, and given the low end iMac a 3.06GHz Core i3 CPU and 4GB of RAM. The high end has gone all the way up to a 2.8GHz quad-core Core i5.

12 Core Mac Pro

This is one of the most beefy upgrades to the Apple product line today. It features an option to pack in 12 cores, 32GB of RAM, 4TB of storage (or four 512 GB SSD’s)

This is really a mind blowing machine, all coming in at a $4,999 entry fee for the 12 core model.

27 inch Cinema Display

Yet another addition to the Apple lineup today - the 27-inch Cinema display. It sports a 2560 x 1440 resolution (at 16:9), a three port powered USB hub and a MagSafe connector for charging up your MacBook.

The display costs a reasonable $999 (considering Dell’s similar U2711 display costs $1,099).

Battery Charger

A (sort of) surprising addition by Apple is a AA battery charger, for charging your keyboard and Magic Trackpad’s batteries to be more “environmentally friendly”.

Don’t get all worked up over this though, its just a battery charger (but its $29 and comes with six re-chargable batteries) so you should get it…
