Apple's Black Friday Sale starts in Australia - Also, Apple can't seem to do Math
Ah, the great land of Australia — where baseline Nano’s cost $199 and 13 inch Macbook Airs cost A$1,599.00. Apple has decided to bless the folks down-under with some pretty depressing deals like $121.00 off a Macbook Air, $51.00 off a 16GB iPad, and a “whopping” $25.00 off the iPod Nano. This all seems snazzy, but there is a few things wrong with Apple’s math.
199 - 184 = 25 / and your argument is invalid
For Apple, sales go like this — take something that is twice the price it should be (not so true in the US and Canada), and mark it down 20 or 50 bucks, highlight everything in red and become heroes. That’s about it and it’s really is a crappy sale in the big scheme of things. I mean really Apple?
A $25 dollar discount on a $199 Nano should price it at $174, not $184. And what about that iPod touch at a discount of $51? It should be priced at $238, but somehow it’s still $264. This is really confusing — is Apple really trying to break the rules of math, or are they just messing with us? — Nah, they’re probably messing with us.
