Gmail on the iPhone Safari browser gets an update

Gmail on the iPhone was great, but I always ended up using the native mail app instead. Now, things are starting to look pretty cool — with the edition of faster scrolling, some new UI elements and numerous speed improvements.

Most noticably, there is a new bottom bar in the app, and the top bar has been fixed to the top, instead of floating around and jumping from place to place. Since a bottom bar has been added, there is no more annoying dropdown menu, everything is accessable within the top and bottom bar. There hasn’t been any changes to the actual content layout (emails and inbox), but scrolling seems to be faster. Try visiting Gmail on your iPhone, and if you don’t see the changes yet, clear your cache in the iPhone settings, and they should be there.
