Gmail Revamps Its Interface, Contacts View
If you just happened to log into your Gmail account right now, you would notice that the interface has been slightly modified in both the bar on the left and the contacts. A couple of new features include
- Keyboard shortcuts (go to Contacts and hit “?” for the full list)
- Sort by last name (look under “More actions”)
- Custom labels for phone numbers and other fields
- The ability to undo changes you’ve just made
- Automatic saving
- Structured name fields, so you can adjust titles, suffixes, and other name components
- A bigger, more prominent notes field
The sidebar has been given a blockier and more compressed view. Above a protruding “Compose Mail” button, rests 3 links: Mail, Contacts, and Tasks. Depending on which you click on, the text below the Compose Mail button changes to suit you. So check out the official announcement in the source link or just log on in to your Gmail account!
