Halo Reach: "The Best Halo Game Yet"?

It has been a long time since the first Halo game was released. It was one of a kind and helped make the Xbox system what it is today. Halo One was the first multiplayer game that I played over and over with my friends, and when Halo 2 was released it redefined what online gaming meant on consoles. I mean I still remember playing Halo 2 for hours every day of the week. The levels were massive, the competition was fierce, and the gameplay was phenomenal! But when Halo 3 was released I was sad because I felt like it wasn’t up to par. It was fun for about a month but nothing past that. Halo ODST was nothing special, especially since the online gaming was pretty much a clone of Halo 3.

The Halo Reach beta introduced something completely new to the Halo universe — classes. This adds a whole new level of strategy along with all the new awesome game types. Even with all these additions to the game I was still unsure until I saw two things — Forge World, and a review done by Gizmodo. Gizmodo says, “We found Halo: Reach is unquestionably the best of the Halo games, and that’s not a small thing to say.” This is a huge thing to say about a game and it will be interesting to see how others feel.

First lets talk about my favorite part, Forge World. If you haven’t seen the video check out our past article on Forge World, it will blow your mind. Forge World now allows you to create your very own level from scratch. No more hacking to make things float in mid-air or create levels in the sky. Everything people have wanted in the past versions is now a reality. This is going to allow the game to continue to grow and be developed on by the community, and it will hopefully start a new trend as well between other games as something they should include within their games.

Secondly, Gizmodo saying Halo Reach is the best Halo game ever is a very bold thing to say, and has made me rethinking whether or not I should even purchase the game. But after giving it some thought I’ve since then have decided I’m going to get it and simply take it back if I don’t like it. I’m excited to see what the story line is, and I’m excited to see how they have improved the online play since the beta. More classes, more levels, more vehicles, and more surprises.

Lastly, there are a few specific specials within the game that will help make it the best Halo game yet. Space battles, the return of Blood Gulch, and customizable firefight mode. See you on Xbox Live tomorrow! Gamer tag: Killertapehead
