Insanely awesome CSS3 Photo gallery stack

We have seen, and written about various CSS3 slideshows and photo galleries with most of them using jQuery, but when we stumbled across this piece we had to share it. We’re not in love with it because it’s incredible, fascinating or even functional — we’re excited because of how well it was made. It was supposed to serve a purpose at one time, but the creator had to place it on the shelf, which is a shame, but there’s some good news!

View Demo - Seriously, this thing is amazing

No Flash. Just CSS, HTML and jQuery.

The code is now open for everyone!

The good news is that Ryan Collins (the creator of this) is a good-hearted person and gave us his left-overs for free and included all the source code and goodies for the gallery stack. All you need is jQuery plugged into your site, a love for code and some awesome photos and you’ve got yourself the coolest photo gallery in town… maybe not the most functional, but the coolest.

“I originally made this bit of code for Theatme, but I ended up not using it due to it not really fitting in with the UI as well as I would have liked. It’s not perfect, and the code could probably be a lot cleaner, but I’ve been messing around with this for weeks and I think it’s time for me to stop.”
