iOS 4.2 for iPad is available for Download - Multitasking Ahoy!
We have been waiting forever and it’s finally here — iOS 4.2 for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. Apple just minutes ago unleashed the update to everyone in the US and abroad and as we speak I have my iPad plugged in and updating like a champ. The update process is smooth as usual, and it’s almost done. We will update with a video if we can.
Some of the things added include a (reasonable) 624.3MB size, AirPrint, Game Center, AirPlay, Improved email and of course folders and multitasking. The update is compatible with iPhone 3G, 3GS and 4, iPod Touch 2nd gen, 3rd gen and 4th gen and the iPad.
Unfortunatly, you won’t be getting wallpaper, multitasking, AirPrint, and VoiceOver on your 3G and iPod touch 2nd gen. You also won’t get AirPlay and Game Center on the iPhone 3G, so the iPhone 3G has become the black sheep of this update (never mind the iPhone 1st gen), but overall it seems to be a good update — lets make sure there aren’t any outlying issues.
Download the update by connecting to iTunes and clicking “Check for Updates”
