Kidrobot's All City Breakers Mini Series Early Preview
Plastic green army men may have been cool back in the day but Kidrobot has something even better in store - their new All City Breakers Mini Series. Rather than designer toys, this time they’ve got 2-inch injection molded bboy and bgirl figurines modeled after the class green army men. These figures will be available on September 15th but we just couldn’t wait so we thought we’d give you a little preview. After the break!
What you’ll get in the pack
The packaging of the All City Breakers Mini Series is particularly delightful - the foil wrappers are designed as bright blue cassette tapes with the All City Breakers label and images of the dancers. The back reads “Why breaker will you get?” accompanied by images of all the possible figurines. However, you won’t find any percentages on how likely you are to get each one. At the bottom, “I am art. For ages 8 and up.”
Each “blind box” comes with the bboy/bgirl in a blister package, a mini boombox, and a sheet of paper as a surface to stand them on.
The All City Breakers come in either green, orange, pink, or blue. Like the green army men, each one has a solid plastic base to stand on. Since these figures are pretty small, they don’t have any special painting; however, all details are precisely modeled - their expressions, cloth, etc… Every last detail right down to the shoelaces is perfect thanks to the injection molding process.
What’s the deal with these City Breakers?
Each bboy/bgirl demonstrates popular dance moves from ‘70’s hip hop culture. Our break dancers were stuck in popular bboy positions such as the turtle freeze, baby freeze, and also what appears to be an airchair/pike.
