Knock-off iPad and horrible Apple website clone will make you die a little inside
This is just cute. A very small company called Axon Logic is designing a p.o.s. tablet which they plan to release sometime in the future. The hunk of plastic is called the “Axon Haptic”, which is weird because there is no haptic feedback in the device at all. It also features a 1.6Ghz Atom processor, resistive 10” touchscreen with stylus, 2Gigs of RAM, 320GB Hard Drive, 1.3MP webcam, 3 USB ports and an ethernet port. Also there’s bluetooth and VGA ports for further connectivity — it has an un-fit price tag of $750.
The part I don’t get is what this is for. This thing is such a mess of ports and connections that the average consumer will have no clue what it does, or even what it is. This is the definition of a company that is trying to make the “best” tablet around — but their slapping one together which doesn’t work at all… ever.
Their website will make Apple fanboy’s facepalm
Is that Apple’s website? No! It’s Axon Logic’s website, and man oh man I know a few designers who are fuming over this — but not because they stole Apple’s design, but because they have done such a horrid job — it’s almost depresing. If you’re into website coding, you may find it amusing that they used Tables for their entire website, and it doesn’t stop there. Their source-code is quite amusing…
I’m sure Apple will let this pass, as it’s not really a threat per-say, but we’re going to get in touch with Axon Logic to see what’s up with their design choices. There’s more copy-cat goodies after the break!
