Kork iPad (1G) case review
There are hundreds of types of iPad cases; some made out of cheap plastic, and others carved out of rare wood. But there’s only one crafted from the cork of trees. Introducing the Kork iPad Case — it’s nothing special. No moving parts. No stand. Just an iPad case made out of the standard materials you’d find in a cork board in an office. How’s it work as an iPad case? To be blunt: wonderfully!

Our Impressions
Kork iPad Case by aprodukctIn our experience reviewing countless tech items and gear, bigger isn’t always better. Flashy features, expensive parts, and unnecessary work on advanced design and functionality can sometimes sacrifice the integrity of an entire product. Fortunately for the Kork iPad case, made by aprodukt, this isn’t what we’re talking about here.
The Kork iPad case is made out of 100% leftover cork, its build quality is tough and otherwise indestructable in the common everyday setting. We’re not saying it’ll take a bullet without skipping a beat, but what we are saying is that you won’t accidentally light it on fire or easily scratch it up throughout your day to day.
Slipping on the case is easy on your iPad too — it took us seconds. We laid down the Kork case on a flat surface and then fit our iPad , starting from bottom to top, bending the upper portion of the case every slightly to give it a tight and snug fit. Don’t worry, your iPad isn’t going anywhere while encased in this natural material. And it’s not bad type of hold where you can’t even get your device out when you want either, but rather it’s made specfically for only the user to be able to easily remove it, but nearly impossible for it to fall out naturally without any sort of force. The ergonomic design gives a nice rounded curve on its back and edges, allowing for users to hold their iPad comfortablly.
The case is cut in a way to give access to all the needed ports and plugs, even giving extra space for the audio port on the top for bigger plugs to fit in. Oh, how considerate of them! We had no problem getting any of our 32-pin connectors and adaptors to fit, however since the case is quite thick it won’t have enough room to be fit into a dock anymore.
Our only gripe comes from the price, which is €49 euro’s, or $70 for us Americans. For such a simplistic case without any other additions or features, a price tag nearing almost an entire $100 dollar bill seems a bit much. If it were
Overall
For this eco-friendly case, there’s not much that it does wrong; Its simplistic, easy to hold, and ergonomic build may just be what you’ve been looking, however don’t expect it to do anything besides just holding your iPad. There’s nothing besides its material that makes this one special, unless you count the extra spaced cut-outs that allow room for all your plugs and such to fit. But at a high price of $70 I’m not sure even a good review will be enough to sway hordes of people to buy this Kork case. Oh, however, it does come packaged in a cardboard box for everyone that’s trying to go green! Kudos to aprodukt to sticking to their guns even when it came to packaging.
