Max Apps - TuneWiki App for Android and iPhone
If you know me on Twitter you know my name is @Maxrobes2000, feel free to follow me! And this is going to be my section telling you about apps that I feel are phenomenal and that I use personally. So with that, let’s start out with the first one: TuneWiki for Android!
The app, and why Maxrobes2000 approves
Let me preface this by saying I don’t like listening to music on my phone. I don’t mind watching videos but music is something that I never really wanted to do. However, ever since I left my iPod Touch on the train, I had to do something and living without music was not going to be the solution. And then, I fell in love with TuneWiki. If you don’t know about this app, you need to get familiar, quickly. I have to say this is the most complete and amazing music application I ever used. It’s a mobile music fanatics wish list multiplied by infinity and taken to the depths of forever but you’ll barely have a glimpse of what I’m talking about. Imagine being able to listen to a song, stream the words to said song, then with one button press, find the YouTube video that goes along with it. And it doesn’t stop there. Say you found said awesome YouTube video and you want to share it, don’t you wish Facebook and Twitter were imbedded, in your music player? Well, it is!
First tab that’s the music. This is the easy part. Of course it has Artist, Albums, Songs, Playlists and the classic shuffle. And this is where TuneWiki stops with all the other music players because it does it well. But let’s be honest, it’s the other things that makes TuneWiki blow the doors off of other apps, including DoubleTwist.
It’s the second tab is where things get interesting. Here you can use Last.fm and SHOUTcast Radio. Streaming radio just fits perfectly in a music app. Sometimes your mood isn’t covered by your own catalog and you want to here something different. Or maybe you don’t have anything “lady friendly” for one of those spontaneous moments, TuneWiki has you covered with both streaming options. Last.fm is more tailored to your taste and SHOUTcast Radio are more like traditional, format focused radio stations.

The third tab, which is the Music Videos section is also, alot of fun. You can search videos on Youtube and you can play videos you have saved on your SD card. A very nice stand alone when you are in a music mood. We all get like that sometimes and being able to launch this while the song is playing is very helpful.
Now my favorite tab, the Community tab. Here is where you can find Songs in a traditional search engine which is fun. But what really hooks you is the Music Maps and TuneWiki charts. Want to know what’s REALLY bumpin’ in your hood? Find out who is listening to what around you. And even when you are playing a song, you can see where else in the world is that song playing. Very interesting.
And the most shocking thing about this app is the fact that it is free! It’s totally ad supported but if you want to send the hard working folks behind TuneWiki $4.99, that will remove the ads from the playback screen. And I highly suggest you do it, TuneWiki is worth every penny and then some. We believe in spending cold cash on hard effort and this is money well spent. This application single handedly changed my mind about listening to music on my phone. It’s truly a quality app. Get it, plain and simple. And by the way, for you Fruit Factory Fan Boys, it’s in the App Store for you too!
