Max's Apps: Beautiful Widgets for Android

Bored with the stock widgets the manufacturer gives you to play with and need something a bit different. You need something a bit more unique. Maybe aHome or LauncherPro Plus is missing that one something that you can’t put your finger on. Something a bit more beautiful? Well, you are in luck. In this edition of Max’s Apps, I’m bringing your attention to Beautiful Widgets!

What it Does: It’s function is pretty simple, it provides you with various widgets for you to use instead of the stock widgets that came with your phone or other home replacement skins. You get two weather widgets (large and small) that includes the time, one weather forecast widget that is 4x1 and the rest are icon sized.

The following Icons are:

  • Bluetooth
  • Brightness
  • GPS
  • Plane Mode
  • Silent
  • Vibrate
  • WIFI
  •

    Cost: $2.04

Difficulty: Very easy, no learning curve whatsoever.

Hours to Complete: None. It’s select and press. It doesn’t get any easier.

Opinion: If you want to give your a phone a unique look, this is a must download. The ability to customize your time and weather widgets is a great feature. You can either go crazy or minimalist with your widget skins. Or, you can go to LevelUpStudio.com, download the Skin Developer Kit to make clock skins and/or the Weather Icon Kit to make weather icons. I haven’t undertaken this task yet but I may give it a go during vacation. If you’re good enough, they’ll feature you on the main page, instant graphic geek credibility. This is one of the ways people get the digital clocks without a background or semi-transparent “glass” look. And the kicker, there’s a Level Up Stuido created Beautiful Widget live wallpaper for free that will show you the real time weather through the day. I will be honest, it is a bit of a resource hog but for me, I find it worth it. This totally removed any since of loss for not having the HTC weather/time widget since choosing the Samsung Epic. As for the Beautiful Widgets, I’ve included some screenshots of my own for your viewing pleasure.

Free Version or Pay Version: There is no free version for the main program. I will tell you this, it’s worth your hard earned dollar for this program. Download it and enjoy the beauty that is Beautiful Widgets.
