Released just yesterday, Night Stand Central for iPad has already become my favorite in the battle for the ultimate clock app on the iPad. I’ve gone through quite a couple - like Flip Clock and NightStand by Kensington - but nothing compares to the stylish, crash free, and customizable nature of Night Stand Central.
As with most clock apps on the iPad it’s not a smart idea to have it open constantly without it being docked or plugged into some kind of power source, which is the reason why the wallpaper backgrounds gives Night Stand Central a digital photo frame type vibe. And for $2.99 you not only get style but you also get practicality; an alarm clock with customizable backgrounds and alarms.
Choose either from the preset selection or from your own songs and photos located on your iPad. Brightness can be toggled by finger gestures, and with a shake of the device you also get flashlight feature.
And if you don’t feel like forking over $3 then you can go ahead and download the free version which has everything the paid version’s got sans the option to choose from your own songs and wallpapers for alarms and backgrounds plus a few less features.
