Origin wins over customers with awesome deals (36 games for $5 each)
The deals are available until August 9th — With the inevitable death of physical goods for PC gaming, Valve’s Steam has won over gamers hearts by providing excellent service and awesome Origin has been a touchy subject for a lot of PC gamers due to the fact they have amassed their entire game library on Steam, and don’t have any plans on leaving. Origin has come under fire again and again for removing EA titles from Steam, dwindling support and of course, the Battlefield 3 controversy — this is how they plan to win their customers.
One of the biggest hurdles for Origin is getting people to experience their service, and that requires a good game which cost a pretty penny. Why would Steam users purchase an Origin game at full price just to test the service out, and even worse, what if they already have it on Steam? The plan we imagine is to make it plausible for a customer to purchase a cool game on Origin for five bones and take the service for a test run. If the service is good, the customer might buy their next new game on Origin instead of Steam — but who cares right? $5 for Bad Company 2 anywhere and I’m in!
