People want to boycott EA due to Battlefield 3 paid weapons and maps

Battlefield 3 could be the single most anticipated shooter of the past two years, and the gameplay videos aren’t anything else but stunning. The marketing for the game has been stellar and DICE has been sitting back, watching the pre-orders flood through. Life is good for FPS fans, and it seemed as if Battlefield 3 was un-touchable — but just as fast as it took our breath away, it’s publisher filled us with utter disgust.

Battlefield 3 is a game created by the very talented people at DICE who have worked on many other awesome games, but the Battlefield series has been their brainchild. Dozens of millions of games sold world-wide, DICE still sticks to their ground roots — their passion to create polished and creative games — but their publisher, EA, has been hurting them every step of the way.

EA is destroying Battlefield 3 from the inside

I would  explain the back-story of this new boycott, but Ramphastid did it best

As most of you know, EA recently announced an exclusive DLC for preordering BF3. If you don’t purchase the pre-order or limited edition version of BF3, you will have to pay extra for the Karkand expansion pack. The only thing not included in the Karkand Expansion pack is the Guns and ammunition, which will create an unfair advantage people who pre-order. As well, charging people extra to play maps available on day one.

This was a decision made by EA, and not DICE. DICE and all of us need your help to get EA to wake up and change their decision. The Hive Mind of Reddit has a GREAT influence over the internet, and a lot of the media as well. Whether the rest of the world knows or not. Please remember to be POLITE in these emails. A bunch of spamming telling them what dumb asses they are probably wont help much.

So in the end, this has nothing to do with DICE or any 1st party that is involved with Battlefield. This massive slimeball of fail rests on EA’s shoulders, and none of this is the right thing to do. The only reason EA wants to charge for certain content is to make money, and there will probably be little or no benifit to the games creators. This is another story of greedy people throwing their weight around to make money off other’s hard work. It isn’t right, and we shouldn’t take it.
