Rumor - iPad 2G will get Facetime and be smaller
Asian manufacturers may have let slip that Apple’s upcoming second generation iPad will not only be able to use FaceTime, but will also come in a much smaller package. Though Steve Jobs has already denied that an iPad built at the fraction of its current size isn’t happening - citing it would compromise the overall design - that apparently hasn’t stopped this source from confirming that Apple will indeed be releasing an iPad 2G that is half the size of current model on the market.
Talk about some major adjustments to a product that’s been the talk of the town since its release.
According to Reuters, the iPad 2G will have front and rear facing cameras, a thinner and slimmer build (is that carbon-fiber I hear?), as well as a higher resolution display. And just as mentioned, they’ve also heard that we shouldn’t be surprised if we see a smaller iPad form factor, or at least be given a choice in terms of what size Apple tablet we want to pick up.
