Rumor - iTunes and Safari merging into one application
How many times have you been pestered by an iTunes update to also download Apple’s own Safari browser? For me, it’s a chore to have to decline the update every single time since I’m not too keen on dumping Chrome for Safari anytime soon. But if the rumors are true, and iTunes and Safari are joining together in holy matrimony, then I no longer will have a choice.
According to rumors circling around the Three Guys and a Podcast camp, the two Apple applications will be merging as one as soon as this fall. And the surprises don’t end there! It also appears that Apple’s late 2009 acquisition of online streaming service, Lala, may finally come into play, as Apple is hoping to make iTunes accessible through internet browsers — which browsers? Well, take a guess. Here’s a hint: it start with the letter, Safari, and it rhymes with the word, Safari.
This is by far one of the biggest rumors we’ve heard in a long while, but there’s something about it that just sorta makes sense. Of course, take this all with a grain of salt, but I for one am looking forward to an online supported iTunes. But I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens at this year’s annual iPod event.
