Squarespace was hit with a DDoS Attack yesterday, but we're back!
Squarespace was hit with a hard-core DDoS attack last night, and their entire service was down, including their own website. Most companies don’t survive this without issues, but Squarespace managed to pull out of the attack within a few hours, and have everything back to normal. They managed to switch IP’s and temporarily avoid the attack until their Peer1 infrastructure could filter the attack, and allow Squarespace to revert back to normal.
As you know, T3ch H3lp was down for quite a while (explains for the lack of posts yesterday), but being the crafty geeks we are, @itsbrandond decided to start work on a full blown, in-browser iPad+iPhone version of T3ch H3lp to complete the experience. Lots of you want it, so we’re working hard to get product ready for you to play with.
As for the Squarespace DDoS attack, they’re back up and running (so, we are too) and this hopefully won’t happen again, but DDoS attacks are a pretty un-predictable thing. We’re just glad we’re back, and glad you waited for us on the other side!
