Was Internet Explorer 9 cheating the Benchmarks? - RoundUp

When you read about Internet Explorer 9 “crushing the competition” with it’s un-believable benchmarking scores, and mind blowing optimizations — you start to wonder how Microsoft managed to squeak this new version out into the public in a short amount of time. Surley they would need to spend quite a while re-doing the IE backbone, and stripping down the engine that loads webpages  — so that’s why a Mozilla engineer dug into the guts of IE 9 and discovered that Microsoft was in-fact “cheating” the SunSpider benchmark.
