Webcomic of the Week - Ugly Hill
Ugly Hill is a now finished webcomic by Paul Southworth, one of the authors of the currently running Not Invented Here. Not Invented Here ran from 2005 to 2009, and to this day, is still one of the best laugh-a-days I have ever read. The story for Ugly Hill revoles around slacker Eli Kilgore, a high school dropout who refuses to grow up, who lives in fear of his older brother, Hastings, from forcing him to move out and get a job. Hastings himself is an obsessive, bigot workaholic with unprecedented anger issues, and prefers to solve all of his problems by eating them… including people who make him make him angry. Yes, that means other people. See, all the residents within the Ugly Hill universe just happen to be monsters. None of which look the same, so things get really interesting.
The comic starts out has normal day-to-day gagstrip with very little overarching storyline, and eventually (especially near the end of the series) Paul Southworth really balances the gags and the storyline, making sure the two never get in the way of each other. The end result is a very smooth and easy to read web-comic thats fun for any age.
