Weekly Webcomic - The Abominable Charles Christopher
While comics such has xkcd have burst and entered pop culture (so even those who spend only the brief second once a week to check their e-mail) have probably have heard of it. Abominable Charles Christopher has passed even under my radar for the longest time. Get ready for the most original experience in webcomics.
The webcomic follows the mute, Abominable Charles Christopher and his quest to avoid the hunters, all while protecting his forest friends. The author/artist is Canadian born Karl Kerschl, whose artistic style is so, for lack of a more accurate word, completely stunning. Its is so detailed so filled out, that the main character doesn’t need a single word for the readers to know exactly what is going though his head. In my opinion, the comics themselves could have been sold as pieces of art themselves.
To complement his amazing graphics, the story that follows Charles is by far the most touching and heart warming storyline ever, as he tries to defeat that of what he fears most. Even 3 years into the comic, there is still so much of the storyline that we still don’t fully understand, the hook that this story line has can only be compared to the now finished TV epic, Lost. During certain parts, it got me as close to crying has Toy Story 3 (admittedly), and had me laughing so hard, my sides hurt.
My one gripe with this whole series is that it’s only Kerschl who updates it once a week, which is nowhere enough. This comic should be updated at least 3 times a day, if not more often to get more viewers, just to get me my fix of my favorite comic ever. Go read it now!
