What to expect Monday at WWDC

You won’t be disappointed - These words were sent by Steve Jobs to Bryan Webster about WWDC. The event has huge buzz surrounding it because of the much anticipated iPhone 4G, which we happen to know already so much about thanks to Gizmodo. But that’s not all; the new iPhone OS will be launched with all of its features, as well as some other hidden goodies. I will go in depth with what are the possible and probable highlights of the show in what I expect to happen at year’s WWDC event.
iPhone
First up is the new iPhone 4G, iPhone HD, or whatever they decide to roll with; we all know they are going to announce it and for many people it’s the only reason to pay attention tomorrow. It has almost been confirmed that the device Gizmodo found is this same exact iPhone, but I’m curious if we will be seeing a demonstration on Skype or even iChat on how the front facing camera will work. Also, there’s a possibility that the amount of space will increase and the usual price will drop.
OS 4.0
The new iPhone OS that I have been testing will finally be officially here. And hopefully it will be released by the end of the day but there are some chances that it may not. What they will probably be showing tomorrow is the different items that weren’t highlighted when announced. A demo of the game center will be demonstrated and maybe a few other hidden items that weren’t originally in the OS.
Apple TV
Apple TV has been one of the only projects that Apple has kind of blown off. They haven’t focused too much attention on it, but with the iPhone and iPad it’s possible that it might now take off. It’s also rumored there will be a new version of the device that is much like the iPhone and uses a Time Capsule or hard drive to store everything. If presented right, it’s the perfect device for someone’s stereo inside and outside.
Mac Pro
This has been a device that hasn’t been updated in a long time. It’s supposed to be Apple’s best machine but has been overtaken by iMacs. With the Intel i5 and i7 being in the iMacs, it’s about time the Mac Pro received it. I’m expecting a possible price drop as well.
Mac Os
Apple will probably give a sneak preview of its new upcoming Mac OS. It’s not really that big of a deal but hopefully they will include some cool items that Windows 7 has and Snow Leopard doesn’t.
Some Extras
Now this is where my crazy speculations begin. Maybe the release of a REAL Apple Tablet. Or a possible iMac Touch? Yeah, I know I’m going out on a limb here, but you never know! I would even go so far as to say we could see a device we haven’t even thought of yet. Steve Jobs says that he won’t be disappointed so I’m expecting something crazy! Sure, it’s expected that the new iPhone will be paraded about with its front facing video camera and video chat, but if Apple came out with a brand new device it would be a major game changer.
For now we will just have to wait and see what transpires in a matter of hours! In the mean time, why not give us some of your predictions?
