Why Does Apple Grab All the Media's Attention?

Whether we like it or not, Apple and the media have a distinct love for each other - one that’s been going on for a long while now, and most of us don’t want to admit it. And while most of this is all common knowledge, I thought I’d point out a few reasons why we’re always hearing, reading, and seeing Apple on tv, blogs, and print:

    • Apple’s advertising has led to direct product recognition.
    • Apple’s product line is easy to follow e.g Macbook Pro not HP Booklet Powermachine E54059r02349.
    • Apple attracts a huge product following because they represent a lifestyle and not so much a product.
    • Apple advertises its technology so that everyone can understand it.
    • All of Apples products are connected.
    • Everything Apple does is predictable example: iPhone events every June.
    • Everyone owns an Apple product whether it be big or small, and they know exactly what it is called.
    • Apple follows the simple “it just works” motto, even if it’s true or not.

Apple’s products have always been able to explain themselves and we (bloggers, TV stations and journalists) find it almost impossible to ignore it. Since everything “Apple” is so predicable, the media knows readers and viewers can understand what exactly the product is trying to convey without much instruction. That being said, no wonder it’s so easy for the media to be all over the latest Apple announcement or iThis or iThat because the consumer can jump on the bandwagon as soon as they’re in the know… it’s an addiction for bloggers, sadly.
