    New Internet Regulations in China

Anonymity is slowly being killed off in China. Which depending on your viewpoint isn't really such a bad thing.  A few Chinese websites are at the center of the this episode as they force people to register personal identification numbers before commenting on their sites. Any inappropriate comments are taken down by "internet police" and those responsible for those comments are susceptible to punishment by law.

Above is a graphic consisting of random facts about anonymity and censorship in the communist country. Pretty interesting stuff. If you live in a free nation, then be grateful - I need my lolcats.

    Nokia imagines Future products

About half a year back Microsoft posted up what the world would be like in 10 years. It was a fascinating look into the future. The best part was that it seemed completely realistic. Now, Nokia has done, sorta the same thing, but on a much smaller scale.

I'm not much a fan of the direction in the video because 50% of it doesn't even feature anything worth mentioning. And the other half of the video showcases the "products", which don't seem to be very practical or even in demand. Or are they? I'll let you be the judge of that.

Girls Update status rather than Call for help

    Flickr by Bryan Veloso

Was the level of danger unknown to them, or was it simply just stupidity? Two girls, both preteens, got themselves stuck in a stormwater drain and were in quite a sticky situation on Sunday in Adelaide, Australia. The two then figured that they could update their status on Facebook and get help that way. Hopefully, someone would be online to read it [...]

    NASA Pwns Rig War

Thought you had an awesome rig? NASA shows its muscle in this video and makes you feel inadequete with your tiny water cooled gaming pc.

The mixture of older buttons and modules from years past, and then those same walls covered with laid flat laptops and monitors everywhere feels like a cyber punk's dream.

    Broadband Definition Fight

So who else was a bit surprised that G4 was actually capable of bringing you a quality interview about something not related to a meme or a crappy youtube video?

Anyway, the interview is with MG Siegler of TechCrunch, who shines a bit of light on this whole definition battle between the FCC and the ISP's on what constitues as "broadband speed". Rural areas are looking to get their hands on the high speed internet per Obama's plans to have everyone snag a piece of the digital pie. However, these companies are looking to put in as least amount of cash that they can do so - hence why they would like to clearly define what THEY feel is "high speed" internet.

And THEY believe broadband is lower than 1mb per second, whereas other country's like Japan and Korea get 80 to 90mbps speeds.
