Youtube wants us to use our Google passwords from now on - Why?
I was making a new podcast, as I usally do every Wednesday and I finished editing it, so I went to go upload it to Youtube. So I sign in and then I see this message:
Please start signing in with your Google password from now on. Pretty soon we will be phasing out support for signing in with your old YouTube password.
and I was wondering, why the hell would they do this? It makes no sense. Why just start "phasing out" our own passwords that we have made for our Youtube accounts.
For such a serius topic (being passwords) and having such a vague message, its going to spread a little bit of panic. At first I wondered, "Did I stumble across a fake, phishing Youtube page where it will ask me for my Google account Info?" but I checked the URL and yes, it was in fact the Youtube site.
Then how is youtube supposed to find out what my Google Password is? And how do I stop my account from god knows what.
