Google Chrome OS download available Next Week - Un-Confirmed

Google’s Chrome OS project, first announced in July, will become available for you to download within a week. Google previously said to expect an early version of the OS in the fall. It will be free, and be optimized for thin clients (Netbooks, Laptops) and will be based on Linux. Driver support is going to be an issue unfortunatley.

Google has a club of engineers working on the *exciting* task of building hardware drivers. There are also rumors floating around that Google is mostly relying on hardware manufacturers to create those drivers. Google has previously said they are working with Acer, Adobe, ASUS, Freescale, Hewlett-Packard, Lenovo, Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, and Toshiba on the project. More info as it comes...
