Weekend Vids: Net Neutrality, Google Search Event, and More
On this installment:
Leo Laporte wants everyone to make their stand to keep the internet open, free, and democratic; Google presents Real Time Search at their Search Event; and all the games you'll get your greasy little hands on in 2010. All that and more in this December 13th edition of Weekend Vids.
On Weekend Vids a couple weeks back I put up a little documentary done by Marc Ostrick and Michael Sean Wright on how tech has changed the journalism game, and given the power to the citizen themselves. This time they're back with a couple of videos running down how the steady improvements in tech have elevated Leo Laporte and TWiT to a position much higher than which could have been accomplished with mass media corporations, such as Laporte's own past employer, TechTV.
I still remember trying to get in touch with Leo back in 2000 when one of my PC's wouldn't connect to the internet (56k). I was trying to reach him on Call For Help - one of the best shows ever on tv.
Does this remind anyone of Cinematech back on G4TV? God, whatever happened to all the quality gaming programs from 5 years ago? I'm guessing it all went online. Ehhh, this video suffices.
Google hosted a Search Event earlier in the week and showed off their latest addition to the search game, Real Time Results. Twitter feeds show up as Real Time search results and update as they are posted. The 1hr + event can be seen in the video above.
