Nexus one to be sold by Google, Supported by T-Mobile, 'early January' release
The Nexus One is Google's flagship device. It is also a very solid device, with a solid carrier (T-Mobile) and a "solid" plan. T-Mobile is going to provide coverage for the Phone, while Google will sell the phone directly to costumers. Here is the rundown:
Google, with support from T-Mobile, is scheduled to launch a new Android device in early January. The Google Android phone will be sold directly by Google via the Web.
Support for the device including troubleshooting and exchanges will be managed by Google and HTC. T-Mobile will offer service support including billing, coverage, features, and rate plans. So clearly Google and HTC will be helping out with the Hardware side of things, while T-Mobile will be dealing with the end-user stuff. It sounds like a solid idea, but it does not yet have a solid release date, yet. Apparently there is going to be some sort of January 5th launch, but well see that when it gets here.
