Video: Joojoo Tablet hands on - CrunchPad in disguise
I know what you are all thinking, this will never live up to the, now dead, CrunchPad or the presumed Apple Tablet, or the up-coming Microsoft Courier. This is a "new" tablet made by Fusion garage (yes , its those guys who kicked TechCrunch off the CrunchPad project). It sports a high contrast, simple, fast user interface and it is one of the cleanest we have seen. Engadget had a lucky chance to see the Joojoo in action, and this thing is ready to tickle tummies and bring smiles, for those of us who are over the fact of the TechCrunch backstabbing. Video after the break.
The question everyone wants answered is "is this really just the CrunchPad renamed Joojoo", after all, Fusion garage did kick TechCrunch off the CrunchPad project -- and if you think it is, Engadget sat down with the CEO -- Chandra Rathakrishnan -- of Fusion garage and he had this to say:
Rathakrishnan was kind enough to answer a few questions about the Arrington-shaped elephant in the room. He remains adamant that the TechCrunch founder and company did not contribute any code to the project, and that their involvement was virtually nonexistent. What he wouldn't talk about, unfortunately, was what's actually powering the machine -- that'll be announced in "due course," but we do know it has a dedicated GPU and, based on what we saw, it does its job very well.
