Unconfirmed: Intel's Core i3 530 processor up for order
Remember when the Core i7 came out, it was all the rage, but expensive. Then they came out with the budget quadcore proccessor, the Core i5, which is just as good (minus some hyperthreading technologies) for a hundred bucks less. Now Intel is set off to make a newer, lower cost, high performance CPU to raise the standards of mobile, and personal use.
Despite recent leaks the company still hasn't made it officially official, but it's now unofficially official thanks to a pre-order at a Canadian retailer. You can expect this peppy 32nm chip with its 2.93GHz speed, 512KB of L2 cache, 4MB of L3, for a small asking price of $157 CAD (that's a mere $10 lower in American).
