Hey, Vimeo has HTML5 too, and its better!

Have you heard the news? Youtube apparently launched a feature called "the HTML5 player" today. We thought it was launched in 2009 because I was using it a while back now, but I must be in a time space continuum and you guys just found out about it. Personally I think the Youtube HTML5 player is not really all that good. I am going to compare it to the Vimeo HD player.
Comparison of the HTML5 players
HD Quality?
Vimeo yes. Youtube no.
Volume controls work?
Vimeo yes. Youtube no (try it).
Still Ugly or Uglyer?
Vimeo no. Youtube yes.
Can you tell the difference?
Vimeo no. Youtube yes (and its not better).
Conculsion
HTML5 has a way to go and its obviously not Youtubes main focus. Youtube's player is "ok" and we don't know why people are finding out about it now because we were somehow using it 3 months ago. Why everyone loves it is weird because its really nothing super special. Vimeo on the other hand is doing it right, feels the same, looks the same, works the same and it has HD. Tip of the hat to you Vimeo.
