Weekend Vids: Office Jesus, Rinry GameGame, and Merlin Mann
Office Jesus brings his miracles to the crew of Attack of the Show; Rinry makes her return with a look at a time when games featured "Voice Sampling" instead of voice acting; and finally, Brandon's idol, Merlin Mann talks about patternized creativity in a talk he did at Macworld a year ago.
Whatever happened to skits like these on Attack of the Show? Did they simply just run out of ideas, or did they run out of staff since the only people I ever see on set are Kevin, Olivia, and Alison.
Rinry counts down the top 5 best, and top 5 worst, cases of voice sampling heard in retro games. For some they don't remember a time without voice acting, but for the rest of us hearing that "Boom-shaka-laka" is like sweet sweet music to our ears.
It's a little known fact that our own Brandon Davenport has a tiny man-crush on Merlin Mann. And why wouldn't he? The guy is brilliant, a sharp dresser, and just look at that hair do! Anyway, listen to him talk it up about his thoughts on creativity at Macworld 2009.
