Apple Sues HTC for stealing 20 iPhone Patents
Apple has gone on a rampage - and their fist of lawsuit is headed towards the face of HTC. Apple just filed suit against HTC, saying that the company is infringing 20 patents "related to the iPhone's user interface, underlying architecture, and hardware." Daddy Steve had this to say [...]
We can sit by and watch competitors steal our patented inventions, or we can do something about it. We've decided to do something about it," said Steve Jobs, Apple's CEO. "We think competition is healthy, but competitors should create their own original technology, not steal ours.
After a few hours, Apple submitted over 700 pages of exhibits to the District Court, which is slightly over-the-top. On top of that, the ITC complaint lists a number of very specific HTC handsets as exhibits
Nexus One | Touch Pro | Touch Diamond | Touch Pro2 | Tilt II, Pure | Imagio | Dream / G1 | myTouch 3G | Hero, HD2 | Droid Eris.
That is almost every phone on HTC, running both Android and Windows Mobile. We hope this gets resolved soon, and we will try our best to let you know when its all over and done with!
