Xbox Live Facebook and Twitter integration goes Beta this month

Xbox 360 Facebook, Twitter and Last.FM will go into public beta later this month, a Microsoft rep revealed in New York.

The beta will kick off in "middle-towards-end of October," Microsoft told MTV, and like other dashboard betas will involve invites being sent out to certain members of the community.

You'll remember that a minor system update prepared 360 owners for the features.

Early access to the social networking goods will also be granted to members of the press, says Microsoft, so expect us to go Dashboard movie mental within the next 24 days.

Microsoft Finalizes Windows XP Mode

Microsoft said today (Thursday, 1st October 2009) that it has finished development work on the virtualized version of Windows XP that Windows 7 users can use to run programs that are not compatible with the latest operating system. To use Windows XP mode you must have Windows 7 Professional, Ultimate or Enterprise. You will also need a computer that supports virtualization.

At it's core, XP mode consists of two things the Microsoft Virtual PC engine and a licensed copy of Windows XP Service Pack 3.

You can play Uncharted 2 right NOW!

The sweet Uncharted 2 multiplayer demo, that was only available to a lucky few is now up for public download on the PS Store.

It contains four multiplayer maps, four multiplayer game modes and two co-op modes to give you a taste of the Uncharted 2 action.

Windows 7 Still Has Security Holes?

Although Microsoft claims that Windows 7 is the most secure version of Windows yet, there are still plenty of vulnerabilities in Windows 7, scheduled for release in less than a month. Hackers have now learned to exploit code that causes a Windows 7 system to crash.

 

 

The reason for security flaws in Windows is a hotly debated topic. Some feel Windows is frequently attacked by hackers and others feel it is down to poorly coded Windows software.

JVC's New Home Theater Projector... For Just $175,000

JVC has announced they will producing a new projector! The 4K DLA-RS4000 promises to give you cinema quality in your home for $175,000 that's right. The projector boasts 1080P quality.

 

Expensive huh? Also did I mention you would need a forklift to get it into your home it weighs 110lb. I think this projector is a good idea but it's so expensive and so large it won't have many sales.

Spotify launches on mobile phones

The music streaming service Spotify has been released on mobile phones. Phones using Google's mobile operating system Android, and iPhone users can access the firms four million tracks.

 

The application will also allow users to save 3,000 tracks for offline use. However unlike the free streaming service for computers will have to pay a subscription charge. Spotify has 8 million users across Europe the service is not yet available in the United States but should be available by the end of the year.

PS3 Firmware 3.0 Released

Sony has released verision 3.0 of the PS3 system software. 3.0 adds many new features including dynamic backgrouds (moving backgrounds), BBC iPlayer (UK only), whats new section and many more features check out the video below to see all oof these cool new features.
