Relax w/ Streaming Nature Sounds & Ambiance

Call me crazy but I CANNOT sleep when it's dead silent. I need some sort of noise, like from a fan, or music to keep my mind occupied enough to let me fall asleep. I know, it's weird. So with the help of Lifehacker, Download Squad, and a couple of other sites, I've compiled a list of places that stream nature sounds and ambient music over your browser to get your mind and soul at ease.

SoundSleeping - Select from different sounds to customize your own relaxation tune

RainyMood - 15 minutes of uninterrupted rain and thunder. It's simple and it's beautiful.

SimplyNoise - I can't stand it, but apparently there are some who enjoy the sound of white noise.

Zendesk - Like SoundSleeping but w/ more sound choices to make up a relax track.

PartnersInRhyme - Ambiance to stream on the bottom left, sounds to buy on the right

How to: Get Your PC Monitor at Eye Level for Minimal Strain

For such a long time while I'd be working for hours at my computer my neck and upper back would really start killing me.  At first I thought maybe it was my chair, but after doing a bit of research I finally discovered that it my monitors were too low. So unknowingly I was straining my body all over just because I wasn't looking properly straight at my screens.

To help combat the pain I've planned to make a DIY monitor stand, but for the moment while it's being constructed I went with a quick fix consisting of books and cds. The trick is getting your monitor's center point slightly below your eye level. It may seem a bit weird to have your screens up so high but trust me, it'll help a ton to get that extra baggage from your shoulders and neck.

Here's a quick look at my own set up. I have some thick books holding up these monstrosities and have eased up the tension

Dual iPhone Dock Reconnects you with Nature

Woodtec, a joint venture between a husband and wife, love working with their hands, and with these two devices they're bringing it back to the basics. Who needs solid white and silver chrome gadgetry when you can gave a simplicity and natural look of a piece of bark hooking your iPod or iPhone to your computer of choice.

...handmade of cedar....looks, feels and smells amazing! compatible with all iphones and all ipod devices(except shuffle). The docking stations use a standard USB plug, so it can be used to charge and sync with a computer. If it is for an iPhone, it came with an adapter to plug into the wall for charging.

The Dual Dock station is $129 and a similar device known as the Triple Dock is $149
