Double USB - the plug that fits both ways

How many times have you gotten a USB flash drive, or even just the end of a USB enabled device, and accidentally jammed it in the wrong way? I know I’ve been guilty a few times of that. Well, with the magic of this “Double USB” concept, we may no longer have to ever worry about sticking in an USB the improperly again.

Designed by Yanko user Ma Yi Xuan, the Double USB solves the problem of people not paying attention to which side the USB logo is on. In fact, I’m sure some of you weren’t even aware that the side that has the USB symbol is the side that is supposed to be side that’s face up. However, to remedy this situation, the Double USB idea sports symbols on both sides.

The technology behind it is easily illustrated in the image, where we see two collapsible contact layers. When the USB is inserted upright or even face down, there are opposite sided layers that hold the USB in place, preventing it from feeling loose while the other side’s layer contracts into the USB head to allow access to the metal contact for data transmission.

It sounds technical and whatnot but it’s probably the simplest idea ever.
