Gmail adds preview pane for quickly sorting through emails
While other email clients like Apple’s email or even Outlook have had preview panes for what seems like forever, it’s taken Gmail up until this very week to throw in the feature. But man, are we glad they did. Checking the mail has never been easier than just giving it a quick glance instead of having to go back and forth between emails and the inbox.
Enabling the preview pane for Gmail is as easy as flipping a switch.
Venture to the Labs settings by clicking the cog to the top right corner while Gmail is open. Scroll down until you see “Preview Pane” and then check Enable. After doing so you will have a new button added to it right above your inbox that allows you to toggle the view back and forth.
Out first impressions of the look are good but it does seem to clutter the whole “clean” experience since you still have the entire left-side pane that sorts mail taking up space, squishing the email titles into a small bunch.
