iOS 4 is coming to the Mac? - Rumors, Go!
We knew this “scoop” would create itself somehow, so here we go - Apparently, Apple is going to be having a “Special Event”, where they are going to introduce Macs running iOS 4. The rumor was scooped up my LOOPRumors who apparently got a “tidbit” of information by someone (they did not mention if it was even a human being) that “The iMac should be equipped with both Mac OS X and a touch interface for iOS.” - more info after the break…
From LOOPRumors
A few weeks ago, Steve Jobs announced that Apple is renaming iPhone OS to iOS. The company has been putting a major focus on Multi-Touch™ since the iPhone’s debut, and adding it to their desktop line is inevitable. Such a move will assist developers in building and testing iOS apps, while opening up new possibilities for touch-screen computing.
Our source indicates that Apple will release the new iMacs at a Special Event within the next 60 days.
To me, this sounds like a bunch of hooey, and I have no clue why Apple would do this - I mean LOOPRumors mentioned multitouch and the iPhone like its a brand new technology, I mean a trademark symbol?
Another reason this makes no sense is why would this help developers? It would make it way more difficult having a limited OS do develop apps, and furthermore, I think the iPad already opened up “new possibilities for touch-screen computing”.
I can’t help but wonder if this actually does happen - I mean, there would be riots in the streets and Mac fanboys would cry out from their artsy apartment windows… I’ll have whatever LOOPRumors is smoking…
